OPEN STUDIO: An Art-Friendly Environment

Looking for a place to get creative and messy OUTSIDE of your house? We embrace the mess here at Local Color Studio. After purchasing a day pass during our open studio hours, you gain access to your choice of our open studio spaces and materials. Our staff attending the front desk will help get you started.

Open studio day passes are $10 hourly or $30 for the entire studio time period. Ceramics studio day passes are $30.

OPEN STUDIO HOURS:

Monday-Thursday: 5-9pm

Friday-Saturday: 10-10pm

OPEN STUDIO DAY PASS INCLUDES:

• Access to the tables/easels in the open studio space or one of the six semi-private cubicles for more intimate working spaces
• One creative base (canvas/paper) – Additional creative bases available for purchase at the front desk
• Use of house supplies, equipment, and media – Art materials in stock for a variety of art forms
• Independent work in community – No instruction…This is free play!

OPEN STUDIO DAY PASS MEDIA PACKAGES:

• ACRYLIC PAINTING: paints, paint brushes in various sizes, water vessel and paper towels for cleaning brushes, a smock to protect your clothes, your choice of 2 pieces of paper OR 1 canvas from our selection of varying sizes and types
• WATERCOLOR PAINTING: watercolor pallet, paint brushes in various sizes, water vessel and paper towel for cleaning brushes, wax crayon (for wax resist), a smock to protect your clothes, your choice of 2 pieces of paper OR 1 canvas from our selection of varying sizes and types
• DRAWING: graphite pencils (in various grades), prismacolor colored pencils, oil pastels, markers, prismacolor erasers, a smock to protect your clothes (if required), 2 pieces of mixed-media paper
• COLLAGE/VISION BOARDING: magazines, colored and pattern paper, scissors, markers, craft glue, glue sticks, a smock to protect your clothes (if required), cardboard for base OR canvas for base

CERAMICS STUDIO DAY PASS INCLUDES:

• Requires successful completion of Clay 101 orientation – Call and schedule one with Shanna Coulter (It’s quick and painless! We promise!)
• 5 lbs of clay
• A smock to protect your clothes
• Bisque fire + house underglazes + clear dip and glaze fire
• Independent work on wheel or hand-building area in community – No instruction, can use wheels if trained or experienced
• Use of house supplies, equipment, and media
• Additional clay available for purchase – $20 for a 25lb bag (Ask at the front desk!)
