Japanese Gyotaku – Beginner (World Art Class Preview)

Gyotaku is a very old Japanese art technique of rubbing fish to make prints showing details like fins, scales and gills. We won’t be using smelly, slippery, and slimy real fish, but we will practice the technique of fish rubbing with rubber fish to make interesting prints of an assortment of types of sea life. We will also explore some watercolor techniques to create a watery background for our prints.
