Sign up here! 1st Class: Beginning Drawing 5 Week Course

This skills-based, 5 week course is open to ages 8yrs-adult at a beginning level. Class will be every Wednesday afternoon from March 13th-April 10th. 

Objective- Learning to See, observation aids, skills, tricks, techniques for achieving realism.

1- warmup design your sketchbook, drawing a white object accurately with contour, value, and perspective, vocab, measuring with pencil, horizontals and verticals.

2- warmup drawing with pencil, white object, media exploration, pen, charcoal, value scales, mark making, grid pepper.

3- warmup 5 areas of light and shadow, still life, proportion, depth, value, look for the 5.

HW- bring a photo for weeks 4&5.

4- set up grid for photo (can be mashup) and draw contour- check for accuracy.

HW- shading the grid drawing.

5- finish the drawing with edits and critique.

Shanna is a classically trained artist with a bachelor’s degree in drawing and painting from KSU. Materials will be provided so just come ready to learn!
